Services

Alternate Care Plus is a community based organisation that supports children/young people in out of home care who have been assessed as having moderate, high, complex or extreme needs. Our service model is designed to provide safe, stable and culturally responsive care that meets the needs of each child or young person.

Assistance for the provision of specialised services is received from Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety; Department of Education Queensland; Queensland Department of Health.

Alternate Care Plus also provides direct support by arrangement, to other community organisations for the provision of a variety of professional services.

Alternate Care Plus offers flexible residential of out-of-home care options for children and young people subject to statutory intervention. These placements are supported by trained care workers who offer trauma-informed support that promotes healing, identity development and positive wellbeing.

Independent contractors who support children and young people in the residential houses are subject to rigorous screening in accordance with the Child Protection Act 1999, This includes a valid Blue Card, national criminal history checks and comprehensive assessments of their suitability, qualifications and capacity to provide safe and culturally responsive therapeutic care.

I dont think it is necessary to repeat levels of need? Moderate to extreme is already mentioned above and this covers the full spectrum assessed by child safety anyway.
